I have the final RTM copy on my desktop (thankyou Microsoft!). Saying that, I've had no issues whatsoever with Jaunty (9.04) so I'd recommend that...maybe a dual boot? You might want to try Windows 7, though. The RC is a free download, it uses less resources than Vista, and is, generally, less buggy than Vista (for some people -- I couldn't tell the difference.)
